Hello and Welcome In!
How’s your June been so far? We’re now in a new season of the year, so perhaps you’re feeling subtle (or not-so-subtle) shifts within and around you?
In this week’s Refill, I’m stretching our timeline just a little bit because we’ve got a lot happening next week. So today, the main ingredient for our Flavor of the Week is the Capricorn full moon, which happens on Monday, June 29th. This works out well because the week before a full moon builds toward the full moon, like a ramp up, so we can start feeling that full moon energy within this week.
We’re also celebrating Octavia Butler’s birthday today! So be sure to browse the bookshop for a selection of her beautiful work.

Flavor of the Week 😋 The Music of Life 🎶

The full moon next Monday happens at 6:57pm Eastern Time at 8 degrees of Capricorn. The Sabian symbol for this full moon is “An Angel Carrying a Harp.” The sentiment is learning to live in harmony with the music of life.
The archetype of Capricorn is known to be a no-nonsense, rugged, ambitious, serious, business minded, even cold or slightly aloof energy. Thus, the mention of music, beauty, harmony, angels and harps might seem odd to associate with a Capricorn full moon. However, we can see the connection most clearly in this statement by James Burgess explaining the Sabian symbol to mean, “Worldly success follows spiritual attunement.” That “worldly success” part is very much aligned with the Capricorn archetype.
In the social context we currently live in, one rife with greed and vain extraction, it’s important not to runaway with the idea of “Worldly success” as inherently about money and amassing material wealth, or gaining political power, or social prestige. And this statement would not suggest that the richest people or those with the most political and social clout are spiritually advanced. We see how this is often quite the opposite!
Instead, I’d like you to consider the idea of Capricorn ambition and success as being closer to the concept of purpose. Here in the Café, we gather to fill our cups and to fulfill our destinies. The spiritual attunement that leads to “worldly success” means living in alignment with our soul’s authentic calling.
This Capricorn full moon is shining its intuitive spotlight on this theme for us. The grit and dedication of Capricorn energy is not limited to vanity or materialistic motivations. At it’s highest vibration, Capricorn ambition is fueled by a deeper spiritual purpose. What often goes unnoticed about high vibrational Capricorn energy is how often the hardworking attitude is actually fueled by love and a sense of duty and care for family, community, or society as a whole.
What compels you to dedicate yourself? What fuels your persistence and commitment toward your goal or mission? Is it your love for someone? Is it your compassion for society? Is it your care for community?
Whatever the fuel for your own Capricornian drive, aligning it and attuning it to your own soul’s most authentic expression is where the magic happens. This is what I teach in The Dream Studio, btw!

In my personal astrology, I have my moon in the sign of Capricorn. This energy has shown up in my ambitious work of Colorism Healing, fueled by my love for the people, and thus wanting to help us heal and create a better world for all of us. I’ve had the joy of actually meeting a few of the people who’ve been touched by that Capricornian work. One of those people recently was Cassie Watson Francillon, who also hails from Louisiana. Cassie is the embodiment of this Sabian symbol, “an angel carrying a harp.”
While Cassie has achieved success with literal music as her soul’s calling, for you my dear newsletter reader, consider your own inner spark of divine inspiration. Under the growing light of our moon this week, reflect on the melody you feel within your soul, and explore how to move in harmony with it, how to sway and bob, step or slide, twist or turn, and dance to the beat of your own heart.

Journal Prompts & Affirmations ✍🏿 for the Capricorn Full Moon
Journal- As I hold my most authentic vision before me, where am I now, and what’s my next best choice to actualize that vision?
Journal- Have I ever felt a spark of divine inspiration and purpose? What did I do with that energy? Has that inner flame sustained me, or vice versa?
Journal- Where have I seen glimmers of the future or flashes of what’s beyond the veil?
Journal- Has there ever been a time I trusted my gut, went with my flow, or followed my hunch only to end up right where, when, and with whom I was supposed to be?
Affirm- I am learning to live my life as a dance in harmony with the rhythm of divine love and beauty.
Open Mic 🎤 “Rhythm of Life” 🎶
One of my favorite songs is “Rhythm of Life” by Oleta Adams. In my mind, it’s a spiritual.
Sincerely,
