If anyone should ever write my life story… I hope they have a great editor!

And what better editor than the cosmos? With next week’s eclipse, we’ll get just that!

We’re now at the halfway point between eclipses. The Aquarius new moon eclipse was last week. The Virgo full moon eclipse is next week.

So, how ya feeling? Press reply and let me know!

As a full moon, next week’s eclipse brings themes of culmination, fruition, completion, and revelations. Because this eclipse is happening on the South Node, it deals with our past, what we release to make room for something else, and what we’re evolving beyond. I think of the South Node as rocket thrust—what we expel from the bottom to propel us upward into a new adventure.

Full moon and South Node energies are very similar, so this eclipse could bring a heightened sense that something in our lives or within ourselves is finally over. After last week’s new moon, you might already feel pulled toward a new direction, which could make you feel even more ready to end something else.

While the full moon is technically next week, the energy of eclipses can be felt as far out as a week before and a week after the date of the eclipse. Since we’re building toward a full moon in particular, I believe lots of us will start feeling it’s pull on the tides our lives early on. So this is the main ingredient for our Flavor of the Week!

Editing Your Life Story

With this eclipse happening in Virgo, we can treat these endings as edits—cutting out and eliminating what no longer serves our life story. Virgo asks that we be specific, precise, and purposeful with our edits. Instead of a story, you might think of your life as a sculpture that you refine to its most beautiful expression by carefully carving away what doesn’t fit. I like the life story metaphor because Virgo is ruled by Mercury, which deals with communication and writing! But whatever your preferred metaphor is, the ultimate goal is refinement through a process of purposeful pruning.

But if you’ve ever had an editor mark up your writing, you know it doesn’t always feel great to receive that level of critique. Virgo energy can skew hyper-critical at times, sliding toward perfectionism. That’s actually something this Virgo full moon eclipse can help us let go of—

judgmental thoughts and words about ourselves,
the fear of making a mistake,
or the fear of being imperfect that holds us back from trying,
or the fear of criticism that makes us hide

—those tendencies can start to fade away.

As long as we live, our life stories are works in progress, so the objective is never perfection. Yet the idea of editing helps us remain intentional and focused on the truth of our hearts. That’s the litmus test of what stays or goes—beyond fear and beyond social formulas for what everyone “should” be and do, the question is: what resonates with my heart?
