Flavor of the Week 😋 Hope in Hard Times

Taurus energy at its highest and healthiest vibration is the opposite of hard times. It is fertile soil that produces an abundant crop. It is stability, prosperity, and pleasure. But as humans here on earth, we know very well that things aren’t always in balance, aren’t always healthy or high vibrational. This full moon can shine light on this and present an opportunity to heal this in at least one area of our lives, if we lean into it.

Five of Pentacles card from the Onyx Tarot deck

Tarot Card for the First Decan of Taurus

The tarot card that corresponds to the first decan of Taurus, where this full moon takes place, is the 5 of Pentacles. This card is never a welcomed sight in tarot readings because it’s one of the cards most definitively about hardship. That hardship can take the form of material hardship like money challenges or physical health problems. It can also be mental and emotional hardship, such as low self-esteem, low self-worth, pessimism, loneliness, pain from feeling rejected, etc.

Often times, there’s a relationship between the external, material hardship and the internal mental and emotional hardship. One can trigger the other in both directions. For example: Challenges with finances can take a toll on your sense of peace or self-esteem, and low self-worth or pessimism can also lead to financial lack.

Under the light of this Taurus full moon, we have an opportunity to see where we might be contributing to a sense of lack in some area of our lives and what we can do to address it or heal it. Since full moons are moments of completion and fruition, we could come to this understanding by seeing the results or fruits of some pattern, behavior, or previous actions. Those fruits might be ones we’re happy with, not happy with, and fruits that are simply necessary to help us grow into the next phase of our journey. Those results might very well be healing or a fortified sense of worthiness, especially if you’ve set an intention for that.

Sabian Symbol for the Full Moon at 2°45’ of Taurus

The Sabian Symbol for this full moon is “natural steps lead to a lawn of clover in bloom.” I love that it’s such a venusian and earthy image as a reflection of Taurus. This scene encapsulates optimistic effort and hopeful persistence.

Imagine: You’re standing at the bottom of winding garden steps. You can’t see where they end, but you believe a beautiful vista awaits and it’s worth the climb. So you take the first step. Then another. And another. One step. At a time. Taking the twists. With the turns. Holding within your soul the lantern of hope, expectation, and appreciation for what’s ahead and the journey leading you there.

When we incarnate on earth, our souls land at the bottom of a set of stairs, those stairs representing the life journey ahead of us. Although we make determined effort up the stairs, the plan is to also enjoy and appreciate the path, and to acknowledge the value in every step, even the most challenging ones.

Our conditioned minds and our less mature egos believe we’re meant to strive toward defined material goals, like a high status job with an upper class salary, the expected family pattern of husband and wife with 2-3 children, adhering to social expectations for physical beauty, living in a fancy home, and generally having the most Instagramable life among your friend group.

Yet any good spiritual awakening reveals that our true purpose is the expression of our Soul. We choose optimism and hope, resolve and determination to climb the winding steps of human life because our Soul knows that the beautiful vista awaiting us at the end is simply a greater view of our own Divine essence.

Once we come into this spiritual awareness, we get opportunities all throughout our journey to glimpse this and to embody more of it.

“The Game of Life”

An additional channelled message I got this week is that the natural human enjoyment for creating and playing games of all sorts, from board games to Olympic games, or for creating and solving puzzles of all sorts, from jigsaw puzzles to complex mathematical equations, is a lovely reflection of how our Souls treat our incarnation on this planet.

In the same way we love to challenge ourselves through forms of play or modes of expanding and stretching through exploration, etc., our Soul’s view Earth in this way too. As an opportunity, not to simply plop down in a life of luxury and ease, but an opportunity to stretch, to grow, to heal, to evolve, to expand. Often that is accomplished through what we perceive as friction, challenges, obstacles, problems to solve, reaching the edges of our comfort zones, and hardships to overcome.

It’s fascinating how our species is obsessed with game shows, for example. Like, seriously!? Why did we invent those if we didn’t love a challenge? Even many of our reality shows are based on the premise of challenge, on creating difficult parameters and watching how people navigate the situation. We recreate mini simulations within the ultimate simulation of human life on Earth.

Our human consciousness, however, absolutely desires the life of ease and luxury!! Lol. I totally get that. Yet, just hear me out… Given what we know about planet Earth, why would a Soul in the spirit realm set a goal to experience constant rainbows, sunshine, bliss, and peace and choose planet Earth as its destination? Spirits see planet Earth just as clearly as we do. Our Souls know exactly what we’re getting into, yet we choose to come here anyway. Most of us even choose to come here over and over again! Much like Venus and Serena coming out of retirement to play some more tennis!

I leave you with this personal reflection in case it resonates with you too. As hard as my life could get at any moment, belief that my Soul wanted to be alive on this planet at this time in this body, sustains my hope that I will one day perceive the reason why.
