I was at a lodge in the Colorado mountains in October 2023. It was the middle of eclipse season, and not yet ski season. I’d chosen that location because astrocartography showed it would be lucky for my career and public reputation. So I was thrilled to have a meeting scheduled with a publisher to discuss my idea for a book about colorism.
It was up to me to land the deal, but I’m never opposed to getting a boost from the cosmos. I got dressed as well as I could with the limitations of what I’d packed for the trip and set up my laptop for the video call. A few minutes past our scheduled meeting time, I was still in the room alone. I tried to breathe and not let my nerves build up. Soon enough, the publisher showed up on camera, a bit surprised. She told me our meeting was supposed to be cancelled like all her other meetings that week. She didn’t know why mine hadn’t been.
In my opinion, it was fate. They say luck is when opportunity meets preparation. Was I fully prepared? No, not fully, but enough to take the opportunity!
Sincerely,
