Dr. Sarah - The Unstoppable Showcase
Meet Dr. Sarah like you’ve never seen her before!
Witness me sharing one of the most important stories of my life along with 9 other game-changing women as part of The Unstoppable Showcase

For several years, my notion of luxury has been based on how a thing or experience makes me feel, not the brand or price tag. You can probably imagine, or have probably seen, very expensive things that just didn’t make you feel good.
When I shifted my notion of luxury from an expensive price to a luxurious feeling, I began to consider simple things, like a bubble bath or my favorite music, and even free things, like a great conversation, a beautiful sunrise, the freedom to take a nap, or a tight hug, as luxurious experiences.
The other day, I spent a lovely afternoon with one of my dearest friends. We sat in the warm sun on a park bench and talked. We went to a small mom-and-pop where we salivated over the spectacular colors and patterns of stones and crystals, and I bought a cool new oracle deck made for book lovers! We ogled beautiful furniture, silk rugs, and eclectic home decor while perusing a warehouse in midtown. The whole time, my friend kept exclaiming, “I love beautiful things!” Then we finished our evening with scoops of decadent ice cream (peanut butter for me 😋).
My friend and I have so much in common, and at the end of this luxurious day, we realized we were both born with Venus in the sign of Taurus. This was hilarious to me because we’d just had a quintessential Venus in Taurus day, titillating all of our senses and allowing ourselves to just feel good, living out our personal astrology without even knowing it, lol.
That day reminded me of all the times growing up when my mom would ask: “You coming to Lowe’s with me?” And we’d go just to daydream, fawn over paint samples, pretty light fixtures, kitchen cabinets, and countertops.
These experiences perfectly coincide with the oracle card I pulled from the new deck I got while meandering with my friend.

The Bookstore card from The Bibliophile Oracle Deck, represents exploring, wandering, and curiosity.
This kind of open and curious wandering is also something I do quite often when I’m alone, like those Sunday afternoons when I’d visit a local graveyard just to contemplate the cycle of life. And most recently whenever I’m in the mood to try a new coffeeshop. The other day I walked across the bridge to try a new-to-me café by the river. Then I took a meandering path to the park, where I swooned over these blooming trees.

From this perspective, you could live quite a luxurious lifestyle, without a jeweled crown or a yacht in sight!
It’s not about shunning expensive things if they truly fill a purpose or bring you joy (sometimes joy is the purpose).
Yet I am encouraging us all to question what we actually need to live a rich, beautiful life.
And however much you spend on an item or experience, truly reflect on whether you’re merely using price as the signal for what matters or if you’re discerning what truly matters based on your genuine experience of joy, peace, and love.
