Hey Beautiful!
This week’s flavor is steeped in the system of numerology and garnished with a lot of tarot symbolism. I explain how we might approach January’s universal 2-11 energy with attention to our personal numerology as well. Then I leave you with several journal prompts to help you integrate and apply these insights more deeply and personally. For the Open Mic, I’ve tried something slightly different by embedding an Instagram post from one of my favorite poets on social media currently.
So welcome in! Find a cozy spot and fill your cup…
Flavor of the Week 😋
I love how the universe always finds natural balance and polarity. We start this yang 1 year with a yin 2/11 month. It’s giving a really fertile start to the new year, but one that asks us to let the new beginning gestate with patience.
Two is the vibration of what’s hidden, secret, or behind the scenes. This is why 2 energy is akin to the roots of a plant, beneath the surface and unseen, yet giving life. Two is also the womb where life itself is created and takes form while hidden inside a dark vessel. And 2 is like the mouth as a kind of womb—gestating and forming words before they’re birthed into speech. The mouth is also 2 energy because it opens and receives nourishment and sustenance. Two energy is very receptive as the ultimate yin energy and is considered feminine in these ways.
The best tarot representation for this 2 energy I’ve just described is The High Priestess. She represents divine feminine energy that holds, like a vessel, secret knowledge that’s hidden behind the veil. She is also tied to the moon, which is both feminine and associated with the darkness of night and the deep subconscious realms hidden below the surface of our awareness. The High Priestess holds infinite potential, and is thus highly potent.

The High Priestess Cards from The HooDoo Tarot, Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot, and Onyx Tarot
When I think about The High Priestess as a symbol for the number 2, it calls to mind the process of reading coffee grinds or receiving intuitive messages while scrying (gazing) into the dark reflection of a cup of black coffee. This is why I’m naming our flavor of the week, “Rich Dark Roast.”
Potential energy abounds across the universe, yet when we hold it and allow it to gestate, to marinate, to charge and build, that potential becomes quite potent and ready for whenever we decide to harness it.
Two as the Number of Partnership
This 2 month also carries the theme of partnership, as we recognize who in our world we want to co-create with more intentionally in the cycle ahead. We might ask which connections can help nurture and sustain us this year.
The partnership energy of 2 is also present in tarot, most notably in the 2 of Cups card. Cups in tarot are vessels that hold emotional and psychic content. The 2 of Cups in particular reminds us of the receptive and reciprocal nature of 2 energy, giving and receiving out of genuine care and love.
In the 2 of Cups tarot card, each individual meets in the middle with their own cups already filled with their special brew and offers to share in mutual exchange their unique flavors with each other. Let me taste your drink and you taste mine. I like your flavor and you like mine.

The 2 of Cups from the Rider-Waite-Smith and the Onyx Tarot Decks. The Two of Air and Two of Water from the Lineages of Change Tarot Deck.
In the cards I’ve included above as illustrations, I also like the Two of Water from the Lineages of Change Tarot Deck because it features two people inside of a house. Two energy is the energy of house and home, which is an energy amplified this month by the full moon in Cancer we had over the weekend. The house, being a vessel and maybe even another type of womb, is a beautiful way to illustrate the 2 of Cups because it invites us to consider with whom we feel most at home. Although Cancer energy is forward moving (cardinal energy), it still has a lot of resonance with the vibration of 2 because it pertains to home, family, roots, what’s hidden from public life, nurturing and care, intuition and emotional intelligence.
I’ve also included the Two of Air card from that same deck mainly because I love the artwork. While Air (or swords in traditional tarot decks) is considered more masculine yang energy, the Two of Air still carries the meaning of feminine 2 energy because it’s about stasis and pause. The Two of Air is stillness, it’s still because it’s in a process of trying to reconcile two different ideas or two choices. The Two of Air is also a highly intuitive card for me (and at least one other tarot reader I know) because it shows us that rational logic is not the way forward, but instead it’s necessary to get still and discern with our third eye, with our intuitive knowings rather than cold hard facts.
Reading this Month as an 11
If we use a slightly different method for calculating the universal month number, we come out with a master number 11. If you want to know why, just hit reply! One thing you might notice about the tarot cards that use roman numerals is how closely the number II (2) mirrors the shape of 11. Eleven deals with choice and balance, as in the Two of Air and The Justice cards in tarot, which are both Libra cards. But 11 especially deals with psychic intuition like The High Priestess tarot card.

11. Justice from Onyx Tarot Deck
The Justice and the High Priestess tarot cards have a few things in common, but “truth” is perhaps most relevant here. The “truth” of the Justice card deals in the realm of facts, evidence, logic, and rational truths—the kind that could be “proven” in a court of law. Eleven, though, is perhaps the most spiritual number in numerology, so it’s notion of truth more closely aligns with that of The High Priestess—it’s a deeper, more spiritual truth that resonates beyond practical, everyday life, a truth that can’t necessarily be proven by logic or rational deduction.
If we choose to elevate to the plane of more spiritual truth and psychic awareness this year, January is a great month to start with. As all of the symbols have already illustrated, the gateway this month would be stillness and the openness to receive.
Working with Your Personal Numerology:
All of this is of course filtered through the vibration of your personal numerology. We each have a personal year number and a personal month number which in most cases does not match the universal year and month numbers. While the universal themes still apply, they will take on a different feel and spur on different manifestations based on your personal vibration and free will choices. For example, January 2026 is a personal month 5 for me, which is not only different from the 2 energy, it’s actually kind of an opposite energy.
In numerology, you want to defer to your personal numerology first. You can search around for any numerology resources that draw you in, but my personal favorite is Affinity Numerology. This is not a sponsored or affiliate link, just a resource I’ve genuinely appreciated and learned a lot from in recent years.

Journal Reflection Prompts 📝:

Where in my life can I slow down or practice more patience?
How can I reframe a difficult situation by acknowledging that just because I can’t see change or progress, doesn’t mean it’s not happening?
Where in my life can I be more open and receptive? What old wounds or fears have kept me closed off in this way before?
What partnerships or personal connections need more attention and intention from me this season?
What’s one time I experienced the magic of trusting my own intuition?
What’s a really memorable dream I had but never wrote down? (Write it down with as much detail as you can remember!)
Open Mic 🎤
This week’s Open Mic feature is by a poet I discovered on Threads and then followed on Instagram. One of his really recent poems resonates with 2 energy in many ways and even the Cancer full moon. And I love the message! I’m hoping this post embeds properly so you can see it, but if not, here’s a link to the post.
Sincerely,
