Welcome to March!

It is definitely a month of change. Tomorrow we have our second eclipse of 2026, which you can read about in last week’s article. Later this month we change seasons, both weather seasons and zodiac seasons.

This year, March is a universal 4 month in numerology, which means that despite all these changes, March also offers a sense of stability and structure that we can leverage as we continue creating a new reality.

Numerologist Shirley Lawrence calls 4 energy, “Let’s get organized.” Four is a much more practical and down-to-business energy than the previous months.

We might already be feeling called to create stronger foundations for ourselves since Saturn is now locked into Aries energy. Saturn loves structure and stability, and in the sign of Aries, it’s got fire, passion, and motivation to get organized and begin building. With the help of Saturn in Aries during this universal 4 month, we can definitely harness this motivated and deliberate energy to construct a reality we want, and even more so once Aries season starts.

It’s probably not a surprise that 4 represents stability and practicality. The square or cube is a shape we inherently perceive as stable, and our cars have four wheels for a reason. Beyond geometry and physics, I want to cross reference the number 4 in tarot for additional ideas about how you could appreciate and use this universal 4 energy.

Flavor of the Month 😋

Creating Stability

The Emperor Tarot Card from The Manzel Tarot Deck

The ultimate 4 in tarot is the Emperor. It’s so synchronistic that this card represents Aries, which is a major theme this month and beyond.

The emperor commonly represents stability and structure. It also represents authority, wisdom, personal power and sovereignty. It is yang energy that reminds us we are capable, that we deserve to occupy the space we’re in, or even that we have a place in this world and deserve to stand firmly in it.

The creative flow from February’s 3 energy can now be grounded, sustained, protected, and even elevated with the foundational 4 energy of March. You might have great ideas. Now consider the structure, systems, routines, or concrete practices that bring your ideas into the real world. Think of 4 energy like a platform for your creative expression.

Though some people might be jaded by the idea of “building a platform,” I simply mean constructing an outlet for your spiritual flow. That platform might be a morning routine, a book club, a garden, a 9-5 job, a storefront for your handmade crafts, an appointment calendar where people can book your services, a social media page, automated prescriptions to treat your chronic illness, a new wardrobe, or a family… anything!

Even though we’re embracing 4 energy, which is inherently boxy, I encourage you to think outside the box when considering what structure or what foundation you need to support the life you love to live.

Trust yourself as having personal authority in your own life. For people who’ve endured abuse, neglect, oppression, trauma, or gaslighting… we often develop conditioning and coping mechanisms like people pleasing. It might cause us to always defer to external sources for truth and guidance. Consulting wise counsel is okay, but always defaulting to it and surrendering all your choices to other people’s decisions isn’t the answer. This emperor archetype in tarot reminds you to take your authority back. You are capable of being the leader of your own life.

4 Additional Tarot Energies

Four of Cups, Swords, Pentacles, and Wands Tarot Cards from The Manzel Tarot Deck

4 of Cups and 4 of Swords- emotional and mental stillness and calm, the kind that can be achieved through meditation, rest, or reflection. The 4 of cups, however, can skew toward being emotionally stagnant or depressed. It can show up when we’re holding on or lingering too long in a particular emotion rather than feeling it and letting it flow.

4 of Pentacles- financial and material security, stability, and conserving resources. This can end up being miserly if we cling to resources out of fear or greed.

4 of Wands- the best 4, in my opinion! It’s celebratory milestones, home, property, as well as family or close community. This card can often mean weddings, family reunions, housewarming parties, and other group festivities. You might celebrate achieving a new milestone and have the optimism to continue building on it as a foundation for the future.

The Number 4 and Chakra Healing

The number 4 in numerology has a lot in common with the Root Chakra, which is “all about being grounded, feeling secure that your basic needs are being met,” and having a healthy connection to your roots. Depending on your personal numerology and other factors, March could be a great month for you to use various tools to help with grounding and a sense of balance and security. That could include a variety of practices like meditations, nature walks, and yoga; to using crystals like loadstone and essential oils like sandalwood, or eating specific foods like root vegetables.

I consult the book Chakra Healing by Margarita Alcantara if you want to explore chakras further.
